Adhesive & Tape Testing Instruments
Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive and Tape Testing Instruments
ChemInstruments builds peel and release testers, shear testers, tack testers, laminators, coaters and rolldowns for pressure-sensitive adhesives, tapes and labels — made to the exact ASTM and PSTC methods your lab runs. Every instrument is built and supported from our Fairfield, Ohio factory, with customization and same-hour quoting.

Three catalogue groups cover the full workflow — the testing instrument, the sample preparation that feeds it, and the accessories and calibration that keep results traceable.

Testing Devices
Peel and adhesion, release, shear, tack, tensile and coefficient-of-friction testers built to ASTM and PSTC methods — from 90° and 180° peel (ASTM D3330) to holding-power shear (ASTM D3654 / PSTC-107) and rolling-ball tack (ASTM D3121 / PSTC-6).

Sample Preparation
Hot-roll and hot-melt laminators, lab coaters, rolldowns and cutting tools to coat, laminate and prepare adhesive samples in-house — so every specimen is made the same way before it reaches the test.

Accessories
Calibration weights, test panels, hand rollers, shear clips, release liners and test-method manuals that keep your instruments running to spec and your results repeatable between tests.

Match a method to an instrument
Which instrument runs your test method?
Which instrument runs ASTM D3330 peel adhesion?
ASTM D3330 measures the peel adhesion of pressure-sensitive tape — the force to remove tape from a standard panel at a controlled angle and speed. ChemInstruments' 180° Peel Adhesive Testing machine and 90° Peel Adhesive Testing Machine 1000 run it at the fixed angle and constant crosshead speed the method calls for.
Which instrument runs ASTM D3654 / PSTC-107 shear (holding power)?
Shear, or holding power, measures how long a bonded tape resists a static load before it fails. The Room Temperature 30 Bank Shear Tester times up to 30 specimens at once under standard weights, so a full set of samples runs together.
Which instrument measures tack?
Tack is the instant grab of an adhesive on light contact. The Rolling Ball Tack Tester measures it by ASTM D3121 / PSTC-6 from the distance a steel ball travels across the adhesive, while the Loop Tack Tester measures loop tack by ASTM D6195.
Why labs choose ChemInstruments
Built to the methods your lab runs
Built to the method
Instruments are built to established ASTM and PSTC test methods, with a quality system modelled on ISO — the apparatus matches what the standard specifies.
Customization
Non-standard test? We design and build custom instruments for it — the differentiator a large generalist cannot match.
Same-hour quoting
Built and supported from Fairfield, Ohio, with same-hour quoting on most instruments so your evaluation does not wait.
